During your party, children will be greeted by our costumed Roman Soldiers and given a brief (and theatrical) introduction to the Lunt Roman Fort; a Roman fortress dated to the year 60AD.

Children will then be equipped with shields and swords (replica and child safe versions), to march into our famous Gyrus, where real soldiers from the Roman Legions would have trained 2000 years ago.

During their time in the Gyrus our very own soldiers will lead them through a battle drill, which is fun, informative and physical! Following on from their time outdoors, the party group will venture into the reconstructed Gyrus, where all children will make a small Roman Clay pot to take home with them.

After their activities have ended, families can enjoy party food, a sing-along of Happy birthday and opportunities for photos before departing the venue.

Please note, we are not able to supply catered food at the Lunt Roman Fort. As such, families will need to provide self-catered party food for children.

The Lunt Roman Fort is an outdoor venue, and party food will need to be served at the outdoor picnic tables.
In the event of torrential weather, we will accommodate food to be eaten indoors, however, this will remain at the discretion of the museum staff.

10:00am – 10:30am – party family arrive and set up any personal decorations and food.

10:30am – 10:45am - party participants arrive at the Lunt Roman Fort. There is a free visitor car park, and entry to the venue is through the large wooden gateway, where they will be welcomed by our staff.

10:45am – 11:00am – Introduction to the Lunt Roman Fort, led by costumed Roman Soldiers.

11:00am – 11:30am – Roman Battle Drill in the gyrus. Please prepare for this outdoor activity with suitable and appropriate clothing and footwear.

11:30am – 12:00pm – Roman clay pot making

12:00pm – 12:30pm – party food, cake and happy birthday song

12:30pm – party participants depart. Family has until 1:00pm to clear space of presents, personal decorations and food (if self-catering).
